The Trieste-Opicina, was a competitive car and motorbike race held between 1911 and 1971 and then resumed as a car-only event from 1982 to the present day.
The uphill route started in Trieste and ended in the hamlet of Opicina.

In an attempt to keep the memory of the event alive, since 1982, with some interruptions, the "Club dei Venti all'Ora" and under the aegis of the Automotoclub Storico Italiano (A.S.I.) has organised what is now the "Trieste Opicina Historic" international event for historic cars.
