New date for Varese Campo dei Fiori

Appointment from 9 to 11 October 2020.

After a long and fruitful work of contacts between Asi, the Municipality of Varese, the Province, the Chamber of Commerce and the Lombardy Region, the classic historic motor racing is confirmed for the mechanical and electronic tricolor series. The event takes place just before the famous historic 1000 Miglia.

There is great satisfaction in the environment of historic motor racing in Lombardy and, in particular, Varese. The Club Auto Moto Storiche Varese is pleased to announce that the 2020 edition of the XXIX Cup of the Three Lakes and Varese - Campo dei Fiori will take place this year regularly: no longer on June 26-27-28, but in autumn, exactly Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2020.

Also this year the "Varese-Campo dei Fiori" will be valid for both the tricolour mechanical chronometers and the free time trial, electronic championship.

Although of a very different type and commitment, the Varese Three Lakes Cup follows the destiny of the historic Mille Miglia in parallel: initially scheduled for spring, the famous Brescian re-enactment has been postponed to 22-25 October 2020. As has happened several times in the past for events in Bergamo and Brianza pre-Mille Miglia, this year the event in Varese in October will serve as training in preparation for the Red Arrow for Italian and foreign crews.

Now it is feverish the contact work of the organizing club VAMS and the technical-sporting staff of Gleo with all the municipalities of Varesotto involved in the Three Lakes Cup 2020 and the authorities of the territory to formulate a program of the event of great historical and cultural importance. And on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the last Varese-Campo dei Fiori sprint edition (it took place in 1960), commemorative initiatives of particular significance are being studied, but with the utmost respect for the government provisions regarding social distancing and public health: everything will take place in the best possible way, as long as health and logistical circumstances permit.
