Departure on Thursday and final arrival scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Brescia.

Open fundraising campaign raised by Croce Bianca has always been alongside the most beautiful race in the world.

The news had been in the air for a few days and the negative of the pandemic due to COVID19 also hit the red arrow.

The Brescia race, originally set for 10-16 May 2020, has therefore been postponed to 22 October which, today, has been given a safe date for the restarting of sports activities at a global level.

Changes also for the departure that will see the car queuing in Viale Venezia on Thursday and the arrival, which will see the return of the crews on Sunday afternoon.

So the new program is the following:

Thursday 22 October, from Brescia, the parade of historic cars will cross the suggestive municipalities of Lake Garda, Desenzano and Sirmione, and will pass away from Villafranca di Verona, Mantua, Ferrara and Ravenna to conclude the first day tender in Cervia - Milano Marittima.

The following day, Friday 23, proceeding towards Cesenatico (FC), we will descend towards the area that still remains the signs of the 2016 earthquake, touching San Marino, Urbino (PU), Fabriano (AN), Macerata, Fermo, Ascoli Piceno and Amatrice (RI). From Rieti, the vintage car arriving in Rome, the second stage ended by parading along the walkway of Via Veneto.

Going up from Lucca and passing through Viareggio, we will leave Tuscany through the Passo della Cisa, to reach Parma, the Italian Capital of Culture 2020, which will host the equipment for the last night of the race.

The final day of Sunday 25 will see the passages from Salsomaggiore Terme (PR), Castell'Arquato (PC), Milan, Cernusco sul Naviglio (MI), recently named European City of Sport 2020, and Bergamo, before reaching the arrival platform Viale Venezia in Brescia, where it all began 93 years ago, with the first 1000 Miglia Cup.

Below what communicated by the organizers:

The Board of Directors of 1000 Miglia srl, in agreement with the shareholder Automobile Club of Brescia, in view of the current emergency and in order to ensure that the event is held in maximum safety, has decided to postpone the 1000 Miglia 2020 – and the connected events – which will therefore take place from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th October.

«As our institutions have constantly announced over the past days», confirmed Franco Gussalli Beretta, president of 1000 Miglia srl and Aldo Bonomi, president of the Automobile Club of Brescia, «people’s health comes first and, in the hope of the best and quickest solution for this unprecedented situation, we all have the responsibility to participate in the collective effort underway».

In the meantime, the province of Brescia is also in the trenches for the war against COVID19.

For this purpose, 1000 Miglia also supports the Croce Bianca di Brescia, which has always been alongside the most beautiful race in the world, in this delicate moment. The non-profit organization, which operates in the field of emergency medical first aid in Lombardy, is one of the organizations active on the front lines in the Brescia area to deal with the current situation. In recent days Croce Bianca, thanks to donations from individuals and companies, has supported the Poliambulanza of Brescia in the construction of a 50 m2 tent in the external area in front of the Emergency Room with the aim of making the diagnosis paths safer and avoiding overcrowding in hospital areas.
