Biella is set to host another thrilling edition of the Historic Lana Rally this weekend, with an impressive turnout of over 50 teams taking part in the medium-regularity race. The event, scheduled for Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21, includes top contenders from the Italian Championship.
Headlining the “50” category are championship leaders Mariano Forese and Laura Marcattilj in a Porsche 911. In the “60”, Giorgio Garghetti and Barbara Giordano will take the wheel of their BMW 318, joined by strong competitors like Gerosa Brichetto-Bortoluzzi (Audi Quattro) and Sticchi Damiani-Liverani (Fiat 124 Abarth). Also in the spotlight are the Verdona brothers (Peugeot 309 GTI), and former national champions Gandino-Frascaroli (Fiat Ritmo 130 TC) and Verini-Martines (Alfa Romeo Giulietta).
At the center of the celebration is the “Rally Lana Village”, set up between Piazza Vittorio Veneto and Via Matteotti. The area will host vehicle checks, a historical exhibition titled “Rally Lana since 1973”, and displays from local dealerships. From 3:30 PM on Friday, teams and their cars will be officially introduced to the public in a dedicated ceremony.
