Regularity 2027: ACI Sport releases the qualifying events, introducing the Absolute Championship, the Promotion Championship and three regional Trophies

The structure of classic regularity titles is changing. CIARAS and CIPRAS replace the former Championship and National Trophy, and the North, Centre and South Trophies take the place of the Coppa Italia. In Rally Regularity, the National Rally Revival Trophy makes its debut.

ACI Sport today published the list of events counting towards the 2027 regularity titles. The list reflects a far-reaching reorganisation of the discipline: championships change their names and structure, and a new speciality arrives with a national trophy of its own. Dates for each event will be confirmed when the sporting calendar is published.

ITALIAN GRAND EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIP

The Italian Grand Events Championship (CIGE) remains at the top of the pyramid and will feature five rounds in 2027:

Coppa delle Alpi
Rievocazione Storica Coppa Milano-Sanremo
Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti
Gran Premio Nuvolari
Targa Florio Classica
Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti and Targa Florio Classica will carry a 1.5 points coefficient.

ITALIAN ABSOLUTE REGULARITY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Italian Absolute Historic Car Regularity Championship will adopt a new format, identical for every event. It features RACE 1 (45 timed trials) on Saturday and RACE 2 (45 timed trials) on Sunday, for a total of 90 timed trials. The top 32 finishers in Race 1 will qualify for the Match Race, a thrilling head-to-head knockout contest held before Sunday’s final finish.

Points will be awarded for Race 1, Race 2, the overall two-day classification and the Match Race.

This format responds to the teams’ requests for fewer events, while providing a single, repeatable format for every round of the championship.

In practice, 8 trips mean taking part in what amounts to 16 races of 45 timed trials each.

The Italian Absolute Historic Car Regularity Championship (CIARAS) replaces the Italian Historic Car Regularity Championship and will be contested over eight events.

Coppa Giulietta e Romeo
XXXIII Coppa Città della Pace
13ª Valli Biellesi – Oasi Zegna
11° Circuito Felice Nazzaro
Trofeo Valli Bresciane
Baia delle Ninfe
33° San Marino Revival
Trofeo Cave di Cusa
The three rounds in the South and on the islands (Felice Nazzaro, Baia delle Ninfe and Cave di Cusa) will carry a 1.5 coefficient.

ITALIAN PROMOTION REGULARITY CHAMPIONSHIP

The second new feature is the Italian Promotion Historic Car Regularity Championship (CIPRAS). It takes over from the National Regularity Trophy and has six events:

13ª Targa AC Bologna
5° Trofeo Classic Lago di Como
La Marca Classica
21ª La Millecurve
Città di Lumezzane – Coppa PAM
Bobbio-Penice
La Millecurve will carry a 1.5 coefficient.

As its name suggests, the Italian Promotion Regularity Championship aims to become the promotional tool for the speciality. It uses a streamlined single-day format that rewards the Driver categories rather than the overall classification. Within CIPRAS, a dedicated trophy has been created for manual mechanical and electronic stopwatches (digital stopwatches or smartphones), specifically to attract newcomers to the discipline. Earpieces and external buttons are, of course, prohibited.

The Italian Promotion Championship has a dual nature: it is a national title and also a tool for promoting the speciality under the aegis of ACI Sport. For this reason it lends itself to being combined with titled series for Modern cars, GT cars and low- or zero-emission vehicles.

ITALIAN REGULARITY TROPHIES – NORTH, CENTRE, SOUTH

The most significant new feature is the creation of three regional Italian Regularity Trophies. They replace the Coppa Italia and aim to promote grassroots activity across the country.

The North Trophy includes:

Coppa Giulietta e Romeo
Trofeo Classic Lago di Como
XXV Campagne e Cascine
Biella Classic
The Centre Trophy has been assigned:

Targa AC Bologna
San Marino Revival
Trofeo Colline Moreniche
Bobbio-Penice

The South Trophy consists of:

Circuito Felice Nazzaro
La Millecurve
Trofeo Cave di Cusa
Several events will therefore count towards both a national championship and a regional trophy.

ACI SPORT REGULARITY SUPERCUP

The best competitors will then meet at the ACI Sport Supercup Final, once again hosted by Monza Classica. Entries are still open for the 2026 edition, scheduled for 28–29 November ---> www.monzaclassica.com

In Rally Regularity, the title structure remains unchanged. The Italian Historic Car Rally Regularity Championship (CIRARS) and the Italian Classic Car Rally Regularity Championship (CIRARC) will be contested over six events, all valid for both the 60 and 50 categories:

11° Rally Il Grappolo Classic
Rally Lana Storico
14ª Due Valli Classic
La Grande Corsa Rally di Regolarità
XXXIX Elba Graffiti
9° Monti Savonesi Historic Regularity

NATIONAL RALLY REVIVAL TROPHY

The real novelty in this speciality is the Rally Revival, which will have its own dedicated National Trophy in 2027.

Six events are scheduled, most of them paired with rounds of the Italian Rally Regularity Championship:

1° Rally Revival Il Grappolo
1° Rally Lana Revival
14ª Due Valli Classic
La Grande Corsa Rally Revival
1° Rally Revival Monti Savonesi Storico
22° Revival Rally Club Valpantena
With the launch of this format, historic car drivers who want to compete on rally roads have even more options.
